Music at Mercy
It is the aim of Mercy College Mackay to offer a consistently high quality academic education within a caring, Catholic environment, which encourages all students to reach their potential as individuals and as members of society. Music forms an integral part of school life at Mercy, and students are actively encouraged to participate in the school’s Co-Curricular and Instrumental Music Programs.
The Instrumental Music Program at Mercy College Mackay boasts exceptional teachers providing a high standard of tuition in strings, piano, voice, brass, woodwind, guitar and percussion. Students may elect to learn any instrument offered. Lessons are tailored to each student’s capabilities and goals, and can be oriented towards external exams if desired. A weekly rotational timetable ensures that students experience minimal disruptions to academic studies while gaining maximum benefit from their tutor’s expertise.
As an extension of the fantastic Instrumental Music Program, the Music Department at Mercy College is offering Year 7 students an opportunity to be part of a special scholarship program where they can experience all of the benefits of Instrumental Music tuition and ensemble techniques in a fast-tracked, targeted group environment. Students will have tailor-made lessons and rehearsals provided by the experienced Instrumental Music staff of the College at a heavily discounted price. What a wonderful opportunity!
